Nestling above picturesque Newlyn harbour and commanding
superb views across Mount’s Bay to the Lizard . . .
Chy Nessa is a well-appointed house with inverted accommodation, set in an elevated
position in a traffic-free location overlooking the fishing port of Newlyn. It is a perfect base for
family groups or couples to explore the beauty of the area and enjoy the local atmosphere.
On the first floor is a light and spacious sitting room, with TV, DVD and video, comfortably
furnished, with stripped pine floors and double-glazed picture windows with outstanding views
over the bay. Sliding doors open to the dining area of a well-fitted oak kitchen/dining room with
oven and hob, microwave, food processor, freezer and automatic washer/dryer.
On the ground floor are two large bedrooms, one with TV and both with vanity basins, with a
double and two single beds respectively, and a bathroom/wc with handbasin and an electric
shower over the bath.
Beds have duvets. Bed linen, four night storage heaters and general electricity are included and
towels are available on request. A hairdryer, travel cot, stair gate, barbecue and garden furniture
are provided.
Chy Nessa is approached by a short flight of gated steps leading up to a patio garden. (Neither
these steps nor the internal stairs are suitable for unsupervised small children.) There is a small
private courtyard behind the house suitable for hanging out washing and storing surfboards.
There is a lock-up garage belonging to the property about 50 yards away. However, it is not
suitable for 4 x 4s or vehicles with a low apron. Additional parking is available in the adjacent
24-hour pay & display car park.
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome and can be walked on the foreshore between Newlyn and
Mousehole and also on the sandy beach at Long Rock. Chy Nessa’s rear yard is also fully
enclosed.
We regret that smoking is not permitted.
Whatever your holiday interests, you will find Chy Nessa a welcoming haven where you can
return to relax in pleasant, comfortable surroundings and enjoy the panoramic views.

Panoramic view of Mount’s Bay from Chy Nessa

Mount's Bay is one of the top ten "Most Beautiful Bays in the World" with the ancient castle on St Michael's Mount, rising out of the sea, its crowning glory. The Penwith peninsula has breathtaking coastal views and in its ancient landscape the traditional farm holding of field and moor still survives. The abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along Cornwall's coastal path, while basking sharks and grey seals can also be seen.
Newlyn is Cornwall's largest fishing port, a haven for deep sea trawlers and small inshore craft. The long arms of its 100-year old harbour walls enclose a tiny 15th-century pier. The exceptionally clear light and bustling life of the port attracted the artist Stanhope Forbes, founder of the Newlyn School of Artists.
The north coast of Cornwall is renowned for surfing and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport. Mount's Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for water sports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors a chance to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings. Fishing or pleasure boat trips are available or, further afield, day trips to the unique Isles of Scilly can be enjoyed by helicoper, light aircraft or ferry.
For lovers of gardening, Trengwainton near Penzance, run by the National Trust, is perhaps the most frost-free garden on the mainland of Britain and boasts a most comprehensive collection of rare, sub-tropical plants to be grown outdoors. At Helston is Flambards, the award-winning, all weather attraction. At Hayle is Paradise Park where Cornish choughs were bred to return to the wild so they would again soar above the cliffs of West Cornwall.
Thinking of leaving the car at home? Chy Nessa is only 2 miles from Penzance railway and coach stations, the nearest bus stop is 50 metres away. Local shops, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance.
